Coaching for RSTA


RSTA is a wonderful employment opportunity for our swimmers.  All of the league's coaches and lifeguards began as swimmers in the league years ago.  In addition to earning a good paycheck, all employees work in a safe, supportive, and fun environment. Our many employees continue to apply and work for the league year-after-year.  Their reasons include:

  • instilling self-confidence and leadership skills;,
  • developing problem solving, communication, and time management skills;

Coaching Requirements

Requirements to hold an RSTA coaching position are as follows:

Head Coach

  • Must be at least 18 years of age as of May 15 of the current year
  • American Red Cross Lifeguard/CPR/AED certification (must be current as of May 15 and through July 26 of the current year)
  • Pool Operations License (must be current as of May 15 and through July 26 of the current year)
  • Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification (current or prior)
